This set up proved to be just too unstable and allowed the rim to "RING" so it was decided to turn just a "witness on the edge of the rim. The flywheel was then mounted by itself back on the face plate (much more stable) and the edges turned in the normal way. Results were good when mounted back on the crankshaft on the engine, at .008" TIR radially and laterally.

Trying to turn the rim at this setting was unsuccessful. The set up caused the rim to "ring"
